| The
Northern Pike, the most widely distributed sport fish in Saskatchewan, is
considered one of the fiercest and most thrilling of all freshwater game
fish. The "great northern" generally prefers shallow weed areas in lakes and can often be caught in spring and fall in bays, off points and on sandbars dropping off into deeper waters. Pike fishing consists of trolling or casting spoons or crankbaits into shallow weedy areas. Tobin Lake, a fertile natural reservoir holds trophy pike, up to 38.5 pounds, with countless 20 pound plus fish being taken every year. Other species in Tobin Lake include sturgeon, perch, goldeye, and sauger. Tobin Lake has a slot size on Northern Pike to help maintain & preserve the unique trophy fishery. All pike between 29.5" and 41.3" are protected and must be released. We fish the North Saskatchewan River and Tobin Lake. We know the waters and we will put you in the middle of the best fighting and best tasting fish that Northern Saskatchewan has to offer. |
